School, School and More School

Most people dislike school and couldn't think of anything worse, not me! I really like school and enjoy it most of the time, I don't mind getting up early everyday to see all my friends and do school work. Everyday I have to get up at 5am and be out of the house just before 6:30am to catch the bus to school, and don't get home until 5pm. It is so tiring to do 5 days a week, I usually only have limited time to do school work as I'm usually in bed by 8pm because I'm always so tired.

The first day of high school was so frightening I didn't know what to do, all these big people surrounding me. It did take quiet a while to get used to the fact that I was in high school and everything will be changing, I missed primary school so much. In year eight I had pretty good grades ranging from A's to B's, that was the same as year nine, all though I had a few C's. Throughout year ten my marks dropped down to only one or two B's and the rest C's, and a few D's. Unfortunately I didn't do very well last year, this is only because of the few family and life changing things that occurred earlier on during the year.

I am now year eleven and trying to do well this year because I don't want to see another shocking school report, it doesn't look great at all. The classes I'm currently studying are Maths, English, Religion, Children Family and The Community, Food and Business, I love all my classes except Maths, it's seriously so boring. Religion is also not a favourite only because I'm not religious but still willing to learn and attend a catholic school, I enjoy coming to school each day! This year I am also doing workplace learning at a childcare centre, it's really fun being around little toddlers all day. The only thing is the 9 hour shift, it is so exhausting! I attend the childcare every Thursday, it's a great experience.

I have the most amazing friends I could ever ask for and support every single on of them, I have met so many amazing people from school and its definitely a great feeling to have friends that are always there for you, for school and home life.

It's Just Me

I'll just start off by telling you my interests, I love to go shopping with my friends, hang out on weekends, go on my laptop and I basically live on Facebook. Throughout my short 15 years of life I have done many sports and hobbies including ballroom dancing, ten pin bowling, gymnastics, netball, dancing and drag racing. The only one I've stuck by is racing, only because its a lot more fun that all the rest! My personality is different and is exactly, i mean exactly identical to my dads, which is great but we clash sometimes.

I'm currently working part-time at Red Rooster which really sucks because, well, who wants to work? The only good thing about my job is the people, we all get along really well and all have the most funniest times whilst we're working. The only thing I look forward to every fortnight is the pay, all though its not the best, but its money!

During the weekends I visit my dad and usually just work, the weekends are usually the most boring part of my week, I'd rather be at school with my friends than at work! Visiting my dad is the best part, I get two hours with him every weekend and there's nothing better. If I'm not working I usually just go out with friends, which is always fun and just go out and have a good time.

The best parts of my weekends are sleeping in, during school I have to get up at 5am every morning which is so tiring, you wouldn't even understand, also then the 1.5 hour public transport trip to school. I'm not usually the person to brag on about myself and often find it difficult to talk about myself, all though I think most people find it difficult too, It's just not my favourite subject to talk about.

Not The Usual Hobby

Girls can do drag racing too, right?
Living with my dad for 13 years meant doing all different kinds of things that girls wouldn't usually do. I grew up with my dad drag racing and also owning his own business with building the cars and also fixing them, I was at the drags every weekend supporting and watching my dad race. I use to always look at the girls and boys racing in little junior dragsters and always dreamed of having and driving my own.

I was only seven years old and definitely wanted to be just like my dad, for an early eighth birthday present I was surprised and so excited when my dad had told me he brought me my very own junior dragster to race the next season coming up, as you have to be eight years old to race. I was so excited and couldn't wait to get onto the track! It was quiet a long process to get my license as I had to do many passes on the track to ensure I am capable of driving.

I am very fortunate to be able to do drag racing because it is an extremely expensive hobby. You need a lot of things, including the dragster which usually range from $10,000-$30,000 and all the things that you need to buy to be able to race like seat-belts, a suit, gloves, arm restraints, boots, helmet, neck brace, the cost of entering each meeting which is usually every fortnight ($100), fuel, engine parts and cage padding! But then the optional stylish front runners, tires, paint job, number and name stickers plus more, it's definitely not cheap.

I couldn't think of anything better to do and so happy my dad got me into racing, I have raced for eight years so far and next season is my last season because 16 is the maximum age to race, then it is time to step up into a bigger car.

Drag racing is definitely the most fun, adrenaline rushing thing I have ever done and I don't regret any of it, my personal best is doing a 7.89 @ 136km/h, it wasn't so great because I got disqualified! The maximum time allowed to do is 7.90 so I was just under by .01 of a second. This season (Nov 2012-Apr 2013) is my first season not racing as my dad isn't here to help and support and I can't do it without him! I can't wait to race in my last season of junior dragster, I'm very very excited to get back on the track!

My Complicated Family

I have a different family, not like all others. My family means most to me, even though we have our arguments and disagreements I will always love and support them. I am one of five, yes I have a big family! I'm the middle child which can be good I suppose.. All though I am the oldest in my household. My older sisters have a different dad and my younger brother and sister also have a different dad, it can be confusing sometimes!

I have two older sisters, Emily (22) and Samantha (20) unfortunately they both live in Victoria so I don't see them very often. Samantha has a 2 year old daughter Isabella, and currently due for her second baby on the 23rd of April, which is definitely exciting! Emily is studying full-time at University, she is the only one in our family that has brains. I get to see my sisters and niece about twice a year, which does really suck.

I have two younger siblings, a sister and brother. Liliana (7) is just an angel, she is so caring, beautiful and just perfect. My little brother on the other hand, Dominic (5) is a little terror. He finds anything to wreck! He loves to be on mums bad side and is constantly getting told off, he can be well behaved, sometimes.

I grew up with my dad as my parents had split when I was very young, my mum wasn't completely present throughout my childhood. I was seeing my mum about once a month until I was old enough to make my own decisions about seeing her, but only then I was seeing her probably about once every two months. My dad is my favourite for sure, being the only child to him meant I grew up quiet spoilt... I usually got what I wanted.

My perfect life was slightly shut down in February of 2012 when my dad was imprisoned, It's still taking a massive impact on my life, though I only have five more months until my life can return to normal. I am now having to live with my mum, step-dad and little siblings, I just live every day as it comes! I wouldn't change my family for the world and love every single one of them.
